“Terror of Travel” by Richard F. Yates

terror of travel (26 oct. 2018) by rfy - (peg)

So…tomorrow morning at 5:00 A.M., I’m being forced onto an aeroplane (a very unnatural mode of transportation,) and heading for southern California with the fam. (I would have preferred to drive—but I’m the minority opinion on that one.) As with all vacations, you might see a slow-down in production on the site while I’m cavorting—though you might have already seen a diminution in production lately because I’ve been working at a retail store, helping my older daughter and her husband move into the new house they just bought, and getting ready for this trip. (Energy supply < Workload.)

Regardless, please don’t expect much from me for the next week or so (quit laughing! Some folks like what I do a bit…)—maybe a few phone drawings or some photographs. I’m planning on bringing my laptop with me; however, running around an amusement park all day tends to wear me out, so I don’t know how much energy I’ll have in the evenings for writing and such. (We’re visiting Knott’s Berry Farm, Disneyland (for three days), and (for our first time ever) Universal Studios. Hopefully, they all have Halloween themed stuff going on. Our family really enjoys Halloween…)

There you go. Fair warning on the possibility of impending work slow-down (although I’m not sure most folks are going to care much.) I’ll undoubtedly do some kind of write-up of the trip, with some snazzy photos, when we get back, if I don’t give DAY-BY-DAY updates. Sound like a plan? Okay… Over and out!!!

P.S. – Did I mention that I’m completely phobic about flying? And about being around a lot of people? And spending a bunch of money that we really can’t afford to spend?

VACATIONS: the most stressful way to relax and have fun…
