“A Parcel in the Post” by Richard F. Yates

A few days ago, I received a strange package in the post!

rekkids 1 - (peg)

It was supposedly sent from “Adult Fun-Time Silly Toys, Inc.” of Vancouver, Washington (USA.)

rekkids 3 - (peg)

I suspected, however, that the package was actually sent by good friend, Richard O’Brien! The parcel was addressed to…

rekkids 2 - (peg)

The “F.” in Richard F. Yates is for “Franklin,” not “Fantasma,” but now that I see Richard Fantasma Yates in print, I might need to consider a name change!

Inside the package, along with a boat-load of Jolly Rancher candies, was a book—a very specific TYPE of book!

rekkids 5 - (peg)

Amongst the 45s (which I LOVE, and have loved since I was a kid in the 1970s) where singles by the likes of Men at Work, Robin Scott (aka: M), The Motels, Paul McCartney and Wings, Little Richard, Bee Gees, Mighty Mouse, Hop-a-Long Cassidy, and more! It’s a treasure trove of vinyl delights!!!

Needless to say, I’ll be crafting a return package to send to Adult Fun-Time Silly Toys, Inc., who are an outstanding (fictional) company that deserve to go Fortune 500, immediately! Thanks A.F.T.S.T., Inc.!!! You folks are fab!!!
