Howdy folks! Just showing off my score from my trip to the Longview Public Library yesterday! (That’s Longview, Washington, USA—if you were wondering…)
Most of these purchases were re-buys of books that I’ve lent out and never got back or that I’ve lost in various moves, although I’d never even heard of that particular William Kotzwinkle novel before. (I enjoyed both of the other books I’ve read by him, so I’m sure it will be great.)
AND, all those books came to less than five bucks! (I bumped it up to five, though, because the purpose of the sale is to help the library. I’m pretty sure most of the books that are for sale were donated to the library to be sold, and maybe the money they make will go to buying new books for patrons to enjoy or to paying employee salaries! (I’m really not sure…))
The point is, I’m HOPEFULLY helping out the library while replacing lost T.S. Eliot, Rainier Rilke, and Kurt Vonnegut texts… It’s a win-win, for sure. And Mariah bought a whole box full of books, mystery novels primarily, most of which she’s planning to give away to people who she thinks need them. (AND, like Mariah said, “We only had to knock down a couple of old ladies to get the books we wanted.” So that’s good!)
Moral to the story: READ A DAMN BOOK (before it’s too late)!!!!
