“Friday the 13th” by Richard F. Yates

Howdy folks! Considering it’s Friday the 13th, I figured I’d either grab my hockey mask and machete and maybe go for a walk in the woods, or I’d write a little check-in for the Workshop (maybe both???) So…what have you folks been up to?

I’ve been doing a lot of writing, working on editing Sharkey and the Jabberwock, as well as penning a biography/resume for myself (written as Charlie Centipede, my evil alter-ego), and you folks can read this finely crafted piece of fiction if you go to the “Who is Richard F. Yates?” page. (Warning: It’s pretty long.) I also did a fun interview with my Uncle Randy and Grandma Lucille about Randy’s Bigfoot sighting, which I really enjoyed. (I’ll have to do more of those.)

The MAIN thing I’ve been doing lately is looking for a J.O.B.! (Ugh…) For the last two years, I’ve been interning at a print shop, hoping that it would turn into full time employment, but it never did—so now I’m looking at things like pizza delivery or being a clerk at an art supply store… Maybe I’ll see if the community college has any openings for under-qualified teachers! Anyway, economically speaking, I need an income, and apparently WRITING AND ART aren’t going to cut it. (Bummer…) (Remember that Ko-Fi thing? It would be really helpful at this point! Or maybe if you’re looking for a new book to read? Or some fancy new art-encrusted objects??? The Primitive Entertainment Workshop might be able to help!)

Still and all, I’m feelin’ pretty good:

One odd thing, as I was cruising around online (I think I was looking at a StumbleUpon page), I spotted an advert for Redbubble—which had MY design in the advertisement!

Now I’m assuming that it had something to do with COOKIES or some other techno-voodoo, trying to sell me an image that I looked at when I was on Redbubble at some point, but if the techno-code KNEW I was looking at that image, why didn’t it know that it was MY image? Seems weird to try to sell me my own design… I might just be naïve about all this, but it does seem odd to me.

And that’s about all I’ve got at the moment. I’m HOPING to get some new postcards up in the Postcards from Paradise page sometime this weekend and keep working on new art and writing. I’ve also got to spend some time looking for gainful employment (I have a few applications / irons in the fire), so I’m not sure if I’ll be quite as prolific as usual, but I’ll try not to let me personal life interfere with my art…. HA! HA! HA! (Good joke, eh!? Art and writing are entirely personal, right?!?! Am I right!?!?) Alright, get lost!
