“Seek” by Scott Sparks

Confined or embraced?
At one time I didn’t mind either’s taste
Grabbing at the chance to tangibly partake
For all that I’ve missed cannot be dismissed
What I can’t recover has redirected my footprints
Making up for time lost isn’t an option we’re allotted
Time away has brought me a pain, tied up forever knotted
I’ve felt the taste of a caring embrace from many miles away
Time confined is time restrained and it’s not exclusively you it deactivates
Let regrets be exposed in hopes you’ll take notice
Some doors may be closed for you to regain your focus
And those who embrace you will see with assertion
Your days of confinement improved your search for nourishment
