“Corridors” by Scott Sparks

I commit to memory absent-mindedly
Places, faces & disgraces unkind to me
Seeking solace, far from faultless or composed
Ostensibly enveloped, probing which direction where I’m no longer enclosed
This gambit’s not a game of try agains and mulligans
Room for error’s little then when no one here wants to be your friend
Meek signifies not weak though they think humility isn’t needed for physique
They feast on anything they can bleed by no means of mystique
I commit to memory albeit unintentional
Conversations & reiterations of embellishments rather unmentionable
While differing opinions bring simmerings to potential offense
Abject offerings owe their allegiance to coffin’s contents
The gaze of misplaced grandeur flakes away sooner than expected
Once a seemingly sweet additive, come to find out was defective
If all such things salacious be eclipsed by what is gracious
My geographical location has no bearing over inner status I’m placed with
