“Keyless Entry” by Scott Sparks

Life is like a box of chocolates
Except when the box is locked and your key doesn’t fit
Another lock to pick when it was supposed to be a gift
My fingers fumble for what doesn’t crumble
While I’m amid an ongoing shift
Keyless entry wasn’t something meant for me
Nor do I belong united in the assembly
Intrinsically in the wrong place, let’s face it
My appetite is a satellite, passing by those sugar free
For whatever chocolates I rock with
Considered gifts not needing bought or found behind a lock
In the current box I sit, there’s an ongoing shift from a view on the wrong side of a window slit
Fumbling for a keyless entry
Crumbling what wasn’t meant for me
Disunited from the assembly and passing by those sugar free
