“Focused” by Scott Sparks

“Mistakes were made,” says the faulty CEO
When he knows what he did but won’t say so
Some mistakes are simply breaks in focused contemplate
While others break the bank and leave you sleepin’ on a steel plate
Regret brings one none respect
To reconcile can take awhile even if they’re willing to let you in their gates
But actions speak louder than shells emptied of powder
Any bullets still in the cylinder simmer till trigger pulls make them less crowded
Might as well have muttered any last words decidedly stuttered
What you can’t take with you be discovered in your disgraceful cupboard
Or take into consideration misdeeds and fraudulent dealings
Don’t draw out dreams meant to be drafted or even seen on the big screen’s reelings
Time to go right or get left outta sight
The sand in the hourglass ain’t gonna last all night

—Scott Sparks
